The Department of Electrical Engineering started its journey from the Academic Year 2010-11 at our esteemed institution, Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Technology, Vasan, Gandhinagar. It is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is affiliated to GTU (Gujarat Technological University, Gandhinagar). The Department runs UG, PG and Diploma courses. The Department has well equipped laboratories like Basic Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Power System Protection, Electrical Measurement and Instrumentation, Control System and Computer lab to meet the curriculum. The department conducts various programs such as Workshops, Industrial Visit, Guest Lectures and Seminar by Experts from Industry and Academic background for constant knowledge up-gradation of staff and students. This activity helps to know the latest technologies, in the field of Electrical Engineering. I believe career opportunities in Electrical Engineering are endless as Electrical Engineer can work anywhere in government agencies, Power industries, R&D Units, IT industries, Electricity Boards/Utility companies and startup to big tech firms. I am extremely happy to be associated with this department, one of the core and oldest branch of Engineering.
